Congratulations on passing your practical driving test! Not only have you successfully passed, but you may be looking to further enhance your new driving skills.
Pass Plus is a practical training course, for a minimum of 6 hours, which exposes you to several additional driving scenarios which aren’t required as part of your practical driving test. For ease of understanding, we’ve broken the course into 6 modules;
- Town driving
- All-weather conditions
- Out of town
- Dual carriageway
You’re able to take the Pass Plus course whenever you like, our recommendation is to take it shortly after passing your practical driving test, while you’re still in learner mode for a short period.
You’ll need a Pass Plus registered approved driving instructor (ADI) to teach you this course, which every instructor at 6S Driving School is.
There are several benefits to the Pass Plus course, but to cite two of the most outstanding reasons.
First, exposure to these modules will really help prepare you for the real world of driving. Motorways are perhaps the most challenging driving situation to be in with the multiple lanes, merging and speed. As a learner, you’re not allowed on the motorway, so getting that support from your trusted instructor is a great option, to get comfortable driving on the motorway along with the other modules.
Secondly, insurance. It is impossible (and illegal) to drive without relevant insurance, so as a newly passed driver, you’ll need to get insured once you’re ready to drive by yourself. Fortunately for you, when taking out insurance you’re always asked if you have any additional certification (i.e. Pass Plus), as it can contribute towards reducing your insurance premium.
